Aloe Blacc: I need a dollar uno dei tormentoni estate 2011. Il testo

Si intitola ‘I Need a Dollar’ il primo vero successo del cantante statunitense Aloe Blacc. La canzone, uscita negli States lo scorso anno, si è fatta conoscere in Italia solo negli ultimi mesi e in questa estate di è imposta come uno dei tormentoni musicali preferiti. In Usa, invece, il singolo è uscito lo scorso anno, così come il suo secondo album di sempre intitolato Good things. Il brano, è stato usato come sigla d’apertura per la comedy drama della HBO ‘How to make it in America’.

Musicista e cantante statunitense, nato in California da genitori di origine panamense, Aloe ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale nel 1995 come rapper nel gruppo indie degli Emanon dei quali è il principale compositore e con i quali pubblica 2 album. Ha registrato anche una versione cover della canzone Ordinary People di John Legend intitolata Gente Ordinaria. Nel 2009 pubblica assieme a Cradle, usando il nome Bee, l'album ‘Open Your Mind’, ma il successo è arrivato con ‘I need a dollar’.
