Armada Latina: il video ufficiale del tormentone estate 2010 dei Cypress Hill

Si intitola ‘Armada Latina’ed è il quarto singolo dell’album ‘Rise up’ dei Cypress Hill che vanta la bella partecipazione del rapper cubano Pitbull e del cantante portoricano Marc Anthony. Insieme al singolo, diventato uno dei tormentoni di questa estate 2010, arriva anche il video ufficiale del singolo. Diretto da Matt Alonzo, è stato girato presso il Mariachi Plaza a Los Angeles. Nel video non compare Marc Anthony, al suo posto c’è la cantante latin pop Belinda.

I Cypress Hill sono un gruppo hip hop statunitense, considerato tra i pilastri del latin rap e del rap rock. Si distinguono per la presenza quasi costante di teschi come tema per le copertine delle loro produzioni, e per il loro non nascosto consumo di marijuana. Hanno realizzato una lunga serie di singoli durante gli anni novanta; grazie a tali singoli, hanno venduto oltre 17 milioni di dischi e collezionato 15 tra dischi di platino, doppio platino ed oro. La storia dei Cypress Hill inizia nel 1986 quando i fratelli cubani Sen Dog e Mellow Man Ace, trasferitisi a Los Angeles, conoscono DJ Muggs e B-Real.

La formazione, inizialmente chiamata DVX, modella la propria identità stilistica inserendo lo slang Latino Americano nella loro musica. In questo periodo l’hip hop si può ritenere ormai una cultura affermata, quando nel 1988 Mellow abbandona il gruppo, i tre restanti membri rinominano la band Cypress Hill ispirandosi ad una strada locale, ed esibendosi in tutta Los Angeles.
